Georgie Riot Drops Soul-Stirring DnB Tunes on ‘Without You’ EP

Georgie Riot heads to UKF to deliver a dose of emotion-fueled vocals, energetic moments, and gorgeous drum and bass grooves on the five-track Without You EP.

While drum and bass might be surging in popularity in North America, its original home in the UK has continued to thrive, with forward-thinking artists pushing boundaries. Among these fresh artists is Georgie Riot, a multifaceted member of the scene who doesn’t just showcase her passion for the genre from the studio or behind the decks, but also through her label, Riot Records, and event series.

Since her breakthrough in 2021, Georgie Riot has performed at festivals such as Tomorrowland, Let It Roll, Shambhala, and Rampage, and has made her debut in countries including Australia, New Zealand, and the US. Yet her skills behind the decks haven’t been her recent focus, as she took her talents back to the label that gave her a start, UKF, to drop her latest studio work, the Without You EP.

The Without You EP didn’t happen overnight; it was a multi-year-long process, with some of its tunes rooted in the days when she first started producing. Now, each track has been polished to perfection and is available for the listening pleasure of drum and bass lovers worldwide.

The title track bookends the collection. The original version of “Without You” sees Georgie Riot team up with her partner, Tsuki, and Sophie-Grace to bring forth a soundscape that tugs at heartstrings with its emotion-fueled vocals and chilled breakbeat guiding the way. Meanwhile, the VIP version offers a touch more energy with its bouncy bassline, yet it is still as light as a feather.

“Hear That Sound,” “Lonely,” and “Scream My Name” make up the meat of the EP, and each vocal-forward offers plenty for listeners to explore. “Hear That Sound,” which brings Gracie Van Brunt and Medii into the mix, builds with bouncy energy as the seconds tick away, while its vocals add another layer of tastiness throughout. “Lonely,” which features MXTR and Interrex, begins with trancey synths and other stuttered elements before diving into its own bouncy ride. Sophie-Grace returns for another round on “Scream My Name,” a tune that’s clearly meant for peak time in mind with its punchy percussion and powerful vocals guiding you to a state of dancefloor bliss.
