Cold Blue Returns to Black Hole Recordings with New Artist Album, ‘Mountain’

in New Releases

German trance producer Cold Blue takes listeners on a musical journey of self-reflection through 12 emotionally charged tracks layered with melodic trance and ambient beats.

Cold Blue knows that quality music takes time. Back with his sophomore album, Mountain, Cold Blue continues the story he began with his last long-player. Out now on Black Hole Recordings, this album showcases his growth, his exploration of the light and the dark, and just how far he’s come as a producer since his previous album.

For the last four years, Mountain has been a labor of love. Listening to the songs and the different emotions each one elicited, it’s clear Cold Blue poured his all into it. The project as a whole celebrates his ups and downs, his happiness and sadness, his dreams and his fears. There is a method to his madness, especially when it comes to debuting music and releasing songs, and judging by this album, it works.

This album, four years in the making, expresses my ongoing personal inner mountain journey of growing and healing, of fearing and loving, of letting go and reconnecting.

Cold Blue

Through 12 tracks, Cold Blue weaves a medley of vocal-less songs, blending ambient and melodic trance, allowing the music to speak for itself and do the storytelling. Well, save for “Radiate,” which features Nicole Willerton. Her angelic and delicate vocals blend seamlessly with the soaring synths and even now evoke a deep reaction from Cold Blue when he hears it. This song was actually the impetus to Mountain, opening the door for this wonderfully emotional and raw album, which shows that the ascent is always worth the wait.

“Into The Rain,” “Storm,” and “Into The Wild” are all dreamy with multiple layers, complete with buildups and signature Cold Blue basslines. And the uplifting “Sunday Kiss” and “White Lights” detail his musical evolution throughout the years. The album as a whole is multifaceted and reveals a musical quality that developed through Cold Blue’s patience, hard work, and refinement.

Cold Blue’s Mountain is available for streaming on Spotify or your preferred platform. Be sure to follow him on social media to stay up to date on his next plans.
