Goldie Releases 30th Anniversary Edition Of Seminal Debut Album, ‘Timeless’

Goldie broke ground 30 years ago with the classic album, and to mark the occasion, he’s remastered and repressed it for a special vinyl edition available on London Records.

Goldie has released a 30th anniversary edition of his breakthrough album, Timeless, on London Records. To mark this momentous occasion, he created new splatter vinyl editions: 2LP white vinyl, 2LP gold-on-clear vinyl, and a transparent blue cassette.

Goldie teamed up with The Vinyl Factory, where he and DnB veteran Grooverider hand-pressed the 500 limited edition Timeless record copies. Each feature has hand-stamped sleeves and custom color blends selected by Goldie himself. A portion of the record proceeds will benefit War Child, a cause close to Goldie’s heart that supports and protects the well-being and mental health of children affected by armed conflict.

Released in 1995, Timeless debuted during a pivotal year in music. The pioneering work of art elevated DnB into a cohesive narrative, more than just standalone tracks. Goldie blended the ambient and orchestral with jungle, creating complex yet musical beats. He tapped into the mainstream with this album — especially the song “Inner City Life,” which featured the vocals of the late Diane Charlemagne. Her powerful and passionate voice encapsulated the grit and soul of the lyrics, while Goldie’s technical innovation, not to mention lush strings and jazz chords, added a surprising element.

Thirty years ago, Goldie created what is now lauded as one of the most essential albums in drum and bass history, and electronic music in general. Timeless broke barriers and made DnB accessible to the masses while introducing Goldie to the world.
