Pophouse Entertainment and Avicii Estate unveil exclusive archival footage in the YouTube mini-series Stories on Stories, celebrating 10 years of Avicii’s iconic album.
A decade ago, Avicii released Stories, reshaping the emotional core of dance music with melodic, heartfelt arrangements and vocally-driven storytelling tunes. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of one of his most beloved albums, Pophouse Entertainment and Avicii Estate have unveiled Stories on Stories, a new YouTube mini-series on making of the record through behind-the-scenes footage.
Featuring three parts, the series offers viewers exclusive footage of how Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) crafted Stories in the studio. Inspired by a 2015 interview in which he expressed his desire to take the fans behind the scenes through archival videos on YouTube, the series fulfills his vision of documenting his creative journey. Viewers can get an intimate look at how Tim conceptualized the album’s tracks with his collaborators, and witness the inventive songwriting techniques that made Stories so distinctive.
The first episode, available today, takes the viewers behind the scenes of Tim and singer-songwriter Alex Ebert as they bring the song “For A Better Day” to life. This episode delves into their creative dialogue, and shows how their ideas evolve from the earliest sketches of melody to the final lyrics. Viewers can appreciate, in detail, how they experiment, follow their intuition, and draw inspiration from one another. It truly captures the excitement and careful artistry of their production process, making it a precious glimpse into the creation of one of Avicii’s most enduring songs.
In the upcoming two episodes set to be released on December 4 and January 1, viewers will hear from renowned artists like Gavin DeGraw, Rami Yacoub, and Wyclef Jean as they explore the full arc of their creative process behind iconic songs like “Sunset Jesus.” Watch Part One of Stories on Stories on YouTube now and stay tuned to social media for more updates on upcoming episodes.
