Following his acclaimed Running In A Dream, Nils Hoffmann’s fourth studio album Everlight expands his sonic universe with introspective warmth and dancefloor bliss.
Berlin’s Nils Hoffmann has become one of the most luminous forces in melodic house, sweeping fans off their feet with music that inspires hope inside cinematic textures and progressive rhythms. Fresh off the heels of his wildly successful third studio album Running In A Dream, Hoffmann is back to unveil Everlight, an LP that captures the essence of transition, finding light after dark, and the fragility of beauty that exists in between.
Released on his newly minted label Everlight in partnership with Maison Arts, this 12-track project refines his signature blend of cinematic melodies and crisp undertones while also expanding his palette with fresh sonic hues. “This album came together during a time of change,” he shares. “It carries a lot of that energy, movement, contrast, and light shifting through shade.” Through every pulsing beat that makes up Everlight lie glimmers of this sentiment: a radiant glow of metamorphosis that demands to be felt.
“The Calling” unfolds like the opening of a sci-fi odyssey—glacial synths and pulsing low-end slowly revealing themselves through the haze. Hoffmann trades his usual sun-drenched progressions for something colder and more cinematic that feels suspended between reality and dreaming. Songs like “Chasing Ghosts,” featuring Vancouver Sleep Clinic, give full body chills with Tim Bettinson’s velvet voice soaring over Hoffmann’s signature atmospheric melodies that feel like floating on clouds.
Lead single “Start a Fire” featuring the gripping vocals of Kurtis Wells pulled me in with its indie-tinged warmth and atmospheric synths. Hoffmann’s ability to merge introspection with euphoria shines even brighter on “Fever In My Bones,” a haunting collaboration with Hayden Calnin. Flickering through melancholy and emotion, this track seeps into my veins like sacred medicine, reminding me that music is the stuff of magic.
Everlight is full of shimmering, festival-ready moments, but its heart lies in the subtleties. Hoffmann has perfected the craft of balancing his club instincts with a composer’s touch – anchored in his classical piano roots and refined by years of shaping dancefloors from Tomorrowland to Printworks. The result is his most cohesive body of work yet, one that feels just as fitted for a sunrise set as it does for a late-night drive.
