Tinlicker has grown to three members with Hero Baldwin joining the band. Together, they’ve dropped “I Want My Freedom” and announced a new album is on the way.
Dutch electronic duo Tinlicker has defined their project with soul-stirring soundscapes that utilize real instruments and push the boundaries of dance music. Recent years have seen many changes take place, including a departure from their longtime home at Anjunadeep to [PIAS] Électronique and a shift from purely DJ sets to those that incorporate live elements. Now, Tinlicker has announced the latest change to the project, the news of a third member officially joining Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven in the band, Hero Baldwin.
Those familiar with Tinlicker will see Hero Baldwin as a familiar face, as the singer-producer has worked with the Dutch artists since 2020. Previous features included “Tell Me” with Helsloot and “Rebirth,” while the newfound trio also collaborated on “I Started A Fire” earlier this year. “Jordi and Micha seem to pull something out of me that resonates with my emotional landscape every time we make a song,” said Baldwin. “I think it’s so important to feel creatively and emotionally secure, and Jordi and Micha always afford me that privilege.”
Tinlicker’s latest song, “I Want My Freedom,” marks the first for Hero Baldwin as an official member, and it’s filled to the brim with signature elements that will hypnotize the mind. From the upbeat percussion and breakbeat flourish to the melodic synths and haunting vocals, you can’t help but fall in love with this track.
‘I Want My Freedom’ isn’t just about me, it’s about all of us. The heartbreaking truth is that the abuse of freedoms reaches far beyond gender. I wanted to create a song of inclusion, with a nod to what I personally feel I’ve lost. Freedom is never handed to us, it’s something we fight for, and I no longer have that softness in me to apologise for that.

That’s not all of the exciting news for Tinlicker’s fans around the globe. The trio revealed that there’s a fresh studio album that’s due to arrive in 2026, with a date still to be revealed. Additionally, a new tour in Europe will take place next year, and one can only assume that North American dates will follow the album’s release once again.
