Modera’s sophomore album on Colorize, Together, Apart, sees the duo dive deep into themes of connection and transformation across its ten tracks.

Seattle-based duo Modera has begun to take the progressive house scene by storm. They’ve carved out a growing amount of space for themselves as part of the Colorize family, dropping releases that stir emotions and heal the soul simultaneously along the way. Modera’s stunning debut album, From Walks Of Life, is a perfect snapshot of the duo’s sound. Now, two years later, they’ve followed it up with their sophomore album, which sees them embark on the next chapter of their story: Together, Apart.

“This album represents a significant turning point for us and the project,” Modera shared on Instagram. “From evolving our sound, to introducing Caleb’s vocals, the process has pushed us creatively and tested our patience in all the best ways.” That patience has paid off, because the collection of tunes on Together, Apart is simply sublime.

This project has been a journey from start to finish. Since the first demo, we’ve both grown in so many ways, personally, creatively, and as a duo. Over the past year, we’ve experienced plenty of highs and lows, and every moment has found its way into this record. This album feels like a defining chapter for us, and we’re beyond grateful to finally share it with you.

Modera

The cinematic nature of Modera’s sound is prominent throughout Together, Apart, and the duo layers in plenty of progressive house elements while incorporating captivating vocals along the way. Singles such as “Someday You Will Know” with FARLEY, “Hollow” with CVBZ, “All She Wrote,” and “I Don’t Mind” all helped welcome fans into this new world of their creation, but those are just a taste of its majestic nature.

Modera looked to another fresh artist, Blonde Maze, for two collaborations on Together, Apart. The album’s title track and “The Space Between Us” both offer chilled-out atmospheres that are perfect for lazy days spent drifting through the world.

Meanwhile, “Walk You Home” offers pensive piano notes and fluttering strings that help guide you into a blissful state of mind, while “Faceless” puts vocals front and center before injecting powerful percussion and synths into the mix. Both of these tracks see the duo dive into their more introspective nature, as others, like “Prelude” and “Coda,” are pure displays of their cinematic style.

Give Together, Apart a listen on Spotify or your preferred streaming service, and stay tuned for more to come from Modera by following them on Instagram.
