Marshmello’s Joytime Collective Drops Fresh Tunes on ‘Jumpstart Vol. 1’

Marshmello’s Joytime Collective is celebrating a decade of global hits this year, and the label has set its sights on spotlighting fresh talent on Jumpstart Vol. 1.

The legacy that Marshmello has created for himself in the dance music scene over the past decade has been remarkable. The masked artist has done everything under the sun from performing at the biggest stages on the planet to hosting shows in the virtual realm, all while releasing hit tunes. Yet there’s another aspect of Marshmello that has flown under the radar for some during this time, his label, Joytime Collective.

Joytime Collective launched in 2016 and became the tried-and-true home for Marshmello’s originals and larger-than-life collaborations that blurred genre lines. A smattering of other artists have graced the label in recent years, but now he has truly opened up the doors to a new era, focusing on spotlighting fresh talent with the release of the label’s recently released compilation series, Jumpstart Vol. 1.

“Excited to keep the journey of Joytime Collective going and ever more excited to showcase some new talent,” Marshmello said about the release. “I love the diversity of this compilation, and I would tell everyone to keep an eye on everyone here.”

The diversity that Marshmello mentioned is evident throughout the compilation’s tracklist. While the masked mastermind leads the charge with his latest single, “Bassline Flexa,” it is accompanied by seven other tunes that feature artists like Lunnari, Ailow, DIMEPIECE, KILLMATTER, and more, who layer elements from trap and future bass, melodic dubstep, and drum and bass into their tracks.

Listeners are treated to some heaviness on tunes like Ailow’s “high,” energetic moments on 4URA’s “Pump It Up!,” and melodic-driven moments on Lunnari’s “EASY TO LEAVE.” KILLMATTER’s “BALENCIAGA BARBIE,” which arrived as the compilation’s lead single in June, stands tall for its bouncy trap soundscapes, while Dr. Apollo’s “Shutdown” throws down some wicked drum and bass into the mix as the collection comes to a close.

Give Jumpstart Vol. 1 a spin on Spotify or your preferred platform, and follow Joytime Collective’s social media channels for more to come.
