Cotto Delivers Two Club-Ready Weapons in New EP

Sydney-based DJ and producer Cotto drops off two hard-hitting, UKG-infused house tracks on his Been A Long Time EP, out on ec2a.

If you’re craving a fresh sound that’s hard-hitting, nostalgic, and forward-thinking, Sydney-based DJ and producer Cotto is someone you should have on your radar. The rising artist has a production style that draws from a broad spectrum of genres, including high-speed garage, hard house, and raw techno.

While he’s equally known for his enigmatic mixing approach, each track Cotto crafts is designed to move bodies and command the dancefloor. In recent years, the up-and-coming star has been steadily building momentum across the UK and Europe, dropping releases on respected labels such as Shelter, Transition, Southpoint, Extra Spicy, and Outhouse Sounds.

Now, Cotto returns to Bristol-based imprint ec2a with his newest effort, the Been A Long Time EP. This potent, two-track EP cuts straight to the core of the UK dance underground. A propulsive effort from start to end, it makes an undeniably unique statement. It has already garnered early support from industry heavyweights, including DJ EZ, Skeptic, Call Super, and Interplanetary Criminal.

The title track kicks things off with maximum impact. Driven by thumping beats and a prominent bassline, it launches off with rhythmic power and maintains a relentless energy. Before you know it, you’re locked into its infectious grooves, and the pulsating cadence will lure you deeper into its orbit.

Next, “Wasted (30,000ft Mix)” follows with a rush of adrenaline, blending rich organ chords and shuffled beats. This song lives up to its name, taking listeners to a sky-high sonic ascent and continuing to cruise at peak altitude. Cotto then tops it off with a final layer of organic textures, crafting a perfect late-night soundtrack that is soulful and gritty.

Strap in and listen to both tracks now. Stream the Been A Long Time EP on Spotify or your preferred platform, and stay tuned for more from Cotto by following him on social media.
