KKULA Delivers Techno Compilation Album, ‘SYNDICATE VA 1’

KKULA dives into the diverse world of techno on SYNDICATE VA 1, featuring label bosses DRAKK and FÜÜLROD alongside Vendex, DREY, and more!

The techno scene is constantly evolving. Today, DRAKK and FÜÜLROD are adding to the genre’s storied history with the first compilation album on their label, KKULA, titled SYNDICATE VA 1.

DRAKK is one of the titans of the underground scene in North America, making a name for himself through relentless beats highlighting the darkness and distortion of industrial techno. FÜÜLROD is another mastermind of industrial techno who has brought a new edge to the genre by injecting it with metal riffs and sci-fi elements from his past lives in the streets of Detroit and working on nuclear research in Germany.

This compilation album dives straight into the underground of the techno scene, bursting with dark energy, distorted synths, and heavy kicks. DRAKK and Vendex kick off SYNDICATE VA 1 with “Sohn Des Teufels,” a bone-chilling track that slowly introduces listeners into the new world of KKULA. Anoy then takes listeners on a psychedelic journey on “Ethereal Body” with hypnotic melodies and vocals.

SYSTOLIC label boss DREY truly proves that “The Present Is Now” as he emphasizes hybrid sounds in a track that heavily focuses on shranz, adding his own twist with a rock break in the middle and some gabber influences throughout. Erizo then switches things up on the album with a melodic tune, “Deviate.” A euphoric melody dominates the track, evolving as time passes, guided by punchy kicks and groovy basslines.

FÜÜLROD takes listeners back into the dark and sweaty warehouses with “Obsidian Skies.” For over five minutes, he highlights the beauty that comes from the chaos and madness of deep, dark techno music. GNRØ raises the tempo on my personal favorite, “Payback,” injecting it with electrifying synths and pounding kick drums. Victor Nagaev and CBR. team up for the final track, “The Rhythm Never Dies.” A classic example of Shranz in its purest form, it makes for a perfect send-off to round out this great compilation.

SYNDICATE VA 1 is a perfect way to introduce listeners to the sonic diversity in techno music, especially if you’re curious about shranz and techno from overseas. In addition, this compilation highlights different perspectives from artists worldwide, whether they’re underground kings or mainstage headliners.

Despite these different takes on techno, SYNDICATE VA I remains united under the mission of highlighting the best that the techno scene offers. If this is only the beginning, listeners will undoubtedly need to keep an ear on KKULA as it shapes the landscape of techno and beyond.
