Now at the Review Stage, a Daft Punk LEGO Set is Close to Becoming a Reality

Patrick Harboun and and his son’s Daft Punk-inspired lego set has reached 10,000 supporters on LEGO’s crowdsourcing platform.

People with the seemingly not-as-rare-as-you-would-think combined interest in Daft Punk and LEGO have cause for excitement, as the French duo are one step closer to having a brand-new set of the toys made in their likeness.

Patrick Harboun and his son first designed and submitted the set for a contest hosted by Universal Music in 2020 — but while they won first place, another set was ultimately chosen for commercial release. Now, however, the set has garnered 10,000 supporters on Ideas, LEGO’s online crowdsourcing platform. This means that LEGO will “now officially advance this project to the Review phase,” according to the set’s Ideas listing.

The concept takes clear inspiration from the iconic Pyramid that accompanied Daft Punk on stage during their 2007 Alive Tour. The structure famously debuted the previous year at Coachella in one of many performances that would cement the festival’s legacy as a launchpad for influential, new stage shows.

Harboun had said in 2020 that he and his son bonded over Daft Punk’s music. At first, his son only wanted to listen to “Get Lucky” off their 2013 album Random Access Memories. With some coaxing, though, he came to appreciate the rest of the French hitmakers’ discography.

“We’re feeling inspired to try ‘One More Time’ after seeing Daft Punk making their LEGO debut in the upcoming film Piece By Piece, alongside Pharrell Williams,” Harboun said when he resubmitted the idea in October 2024.

Patrick Harboun and his son’s Daft Punk lego will be reviewed by LEGO starting in May 2025. According to the Ideas page, the process can take several months, ultimately resulting in a “go” or “no go” decision.
