Paul van Dyk Proclaims ‘This World Is Ours’ on New Album

Paul van Dyk showcases his ability to work well with others throughout the 30 tracks on his latest studio album, This World Is Ours.

As one of the artists who helped usher in the era of trance, Paul van Dyk‘s legacy in the scene speaks for itself. The past few decades have seen this beloved DJ and producer do it all, from releasing seminal tracks to taking the stage at festivals and nightclubs worldwide, all while curating the future on his label, VANDIT Records. Now, he’s returned to his label with another captivating release, this time in the form of a 30-track album called This World Is Ours.

While Paul van Dyk is most renowned for his trance releases, This World Is Ours showcases his skills in creating soundscapes beyond its reaches. The entire second disc is littered with progressive house gems like “Wishful Thinking” with Kolonie, “Hawkins Square” with Alex M.O.R.P.H., and “VENTURE X” with Weekend Heroes and Christian Schottstaed. There’s even some fantastic house grooves found on “FILTHY ACID” and “ACID TRAXXX,” which brings DJ Pierre and Phuture into the mix. And you can’t ignore the techno undertones that blare through on “Back 2 The FVTR” with The YellowHeads and “Fragmentation” with Sean & Dee.

That doesn’t mean that there isn’t a hearty dose of trance found within the tracklist, either. “Two Rivers” with Rafael Osmo kicks off the collection with a dose of raw, deep trance that leans a bit into the progressive realm. Others, like “Take Me Away” with LOUT, “Love Is Enough” with Sue McLaren, “Someone Like You” with Ciaran McAuley, “Voltage” with Jordan Gill, and “Against The Algorithm” with John 00 Fleming also stand out as special among the rest.
