Chris Lake Announces Debut Artist Album, Shares Lead Single

Chris Lake has stoked fans’ interest in his debut artist album by delivering its lead single, “In My Head” featuring Amber Mark.

Not in his nearly quarter decade as a music producer has Chris Lake released a proper longform work. That looks to change on July 11 as the English tech house hitmaker has announced his debut studio-length album, Chemistry, via Black Book Records.

To give weight to the big reveal, Lake has offered up the lead single of the effort: the infectious and club-ready “In My Head.” According to a description, he first debuted it at his and FISHER’s Hollywood Blvd. block party, and fans have been clamoring for it ever since. Between Amber Mark‘s saccharine vocal and Lake’s morphing bassline, it’s easy to see why.

“This album has been a long time in the making, and it features some really special artists I’ve been lucky enough to work with,” wrote Lake in an Instagram post announcing Chemistry. “I can’t wait to share this with you all.”

After he cut his teeth recording bootlegs and edits, Chris Lake’s first original music landed in the category of progressive house — even his 2002 Sia feature, “Drink To Get Drunk.” But it was 2006 singles like “One Too Many” and “Changes” that foretold of the creative direction that would eventually take him to major festival stages throughout the world.

Today, Chris Lake is known for his close collaborations with FISHER as well as popular singles like “Toxic” and “Beggin’.” With such a wealth of music under his belt, it’s a wonder he hasn’t released a full album thus far — but 2025 is as good a time as any. No tracklist is available for Chemistry at the time of writing.

Pre-order Chemistry by Chris Lake across platforms via Soundplate, and listen to “In My Head” for an idea of what to expect from the full release.
