Eyezic offers a melodic reflection on life’s ever-changing journey in his latest EP, In Motion, that’s out now via Lost In Dreams.
Washington DC-based producer Eyezic is emerging as one of electronic music’s most compelling artists. From emotive ballads and uplifting melodies to club-friendly tunes, there is much to appreciate from this up-and-coming artist. His versatile catalog spans various genres like trap, house, breaks, melodic bass, and UK garage, reflecting his ever-evolving style and relentless drive to push the limits of his musical productions.
Following the success of his Reflections EP last year, Eyezic returns to Lost in Dreams for his new four-track sophomore release on the label—the enchanting and dreamlike In Motion EP, which feels like a magical gift for the fans.
Taking its time to unfold with a minimal intro, the title track, “Holding On,” sets the tone with a feeling of liberation. The sparse arrangement of thumping kicks and playful twists perfectly complements this sense of freedom, creating an energetic, dance-friendly groove. Then, “Gravity” carries on with melodic house elements that create a fleeting and uncertain atmosphere as Eyezic contemplates the push and pull of relationships. Savannah Sgro‘s dynamic vocals heighten the emotional depth and embody the tension and release that comes with a love that feels undeniable.
The next track is for you if you’re a fan of emotive electronic melodies. “Never Should’ve Called” takes off with warm textures and a modulating synth, all layered underneath the shuffling drums. LA-based singer/songwriter JiLLi’s soaring vocals enhance the deep sense of melancholy, making it a track that will resonate long after it ends.
Closing off, “Crush” overflows with deep longingness as Brody Leigh’s smooth vocals add to the shimmering background tones, capturing the intensity of love as the song delves into the complexities of human connection. “There are moments in life where you find it difficult to express how you feel about someone, so you find yourself expressing these emotions in a different way,” Eyezic reflects. “This could be anywhere from showing love, carefulness, sadness, or any emotion in between.”
