THELMA is a lover of techno bringing two spicy tracks to other techno lovers. Get lost in your own world with her latest EP, The Higher Land.
Jumping straight into spring, Spanish high-energy techno producer THELMA just dropped a fierce EP titled The Higher Land, out now on ec2a. These two unstoppable tracks are built for peak-time dancefloor hours, taking you on a percussion-filled journey.
Since the age of three, THELMA has been practicing music with her head in the clouds. It wasn’t until she was in college that she came across electronic music, where she vowed to deliver the sounds that made her feel alive one day. Falling in love with techno at underground Swiss club Folklor, she became determined to break into the scene. This two-track EP is a true testament to not only her musical ear but also the hard work and dedication she has put into finding her place in the techno scene.
“Greenhouse” kicks things off with a driving pulse, layering rolling synth loops over intense kicks. The track wastes no time establishing its energy; there’s a raw, almost mechanical quality that doesn’t feel overcomplicated. You can hear where THELMA took that Detroit influence and ran with it.
Taking it up a few notches, “This World” pushes the tempo with warped acid basslines and sharp, driving percussion. This track feels like it’s accelerating toward something bigger. The layering here is a bit more intricate, with subtle shifts and texture changes that keep it fresh from start to finish. Both tracks clock in between five and six minutes, long enough to make an impact but not lose momentum.
The Higher Land is out now. Listen to the track on Spotify or your preferred platform.
