Alex Sonata & TheRio Drop Off First ’25 Years of Anjuna’ Mix Compilation

Alex Sonata & TheRio have taken the reins of the first 25 Years Of Anjuna mix compilation as the label continues celebrating its dominance in the scene.

Above & Beyond‘s two main Anjuna imprints – Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep – have stood the test of time. The past two and a half decades have seen them grow to immense size, influence the soundscapes of the scene, host curated events, and create new homes with sublabels. Milestones are important to celebrate, and they’re doing just that with a new mix compilation series, 25 Years Of Anjuna, with Alex Sonata & TheRio taking the reins for the first in the series.

Alex Sonata & TheRio joined Anjunabeats in 2020 and were quickly welcomed into the Anjunafamily. Their love for the label didn’t begin there, as the sounds from the imprints influenced their careers. Alex Sonata & TheRio channeled those same influences when curating the tracks for their installment of 25 Years Of Anjuna to craft a gorgeous release honoring the label’s legacy. Found inside are gems from ARTY & Mat Zo, Smith & Pledger, Myon & Shane 54, Norin & Rad, and, of course, Above & Beyond, all of which represent different eras of Anjuna from its earliest days to the modern era.

It’s a true honour to be asked for our take on a compilation mix that celebrates an incredible 25 years of the label. Most artists and fans would probably agree that it’s an impossible task to narrow such an impressive catalogue down to a 60-minute mix, but in the end, we chose a selection of tracks that have not only inspired us over the years and helped mould our sound, but also tracks that give us total nostalgia! We hope you all enjoy this mix as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
