Shadow Net Recordings Drops Off First ‘Annual’ Compilation

Shadow Net Recordings is capping off 2024 by releasing its first-ever Annual compilation that features standout tunes from this year and the past few to help show off what the future holds for the label.

Drum and bass is seeing its day in the sun, with countless artists championing the genre worldwide and an increasing number of people flocking to its sounds in the US after years of it sitting on the sidelines. But while major artists in this space take the stage at top festivals and host massive tours, an underground side of the spectrum continues to push the genre forward in new, exciting ways. One label helping champion that is Shadow Net Recordings.

In the past few years, Shadow Net Recordings has dropped off some of the most unique tunes in the drum and bass scene while becoming a home for emerging artists. Now, they’re capping off their run in 2024 by curating some of the biggest and brightest tunes they’ve released over the past few years to show off their legacy and where they’re heading next on their first-ever Annual compilation.

Shadow Net Recordings’ Annual “001” clocks in at 22 tracks in total, all of which deliver everything from powerful doses of energy to mind-warping moments that you’ll find yourself coming back to for another listen. Tracks from artists like Akuma, CyFunk, Stenchman, Toastie Tailor, echochamber, Loudek, 357, and more have found a home within its runtime, and it’s well worth a listen for any drum and bass lover.

Standouts appear throughout the compilation, but there are four you should really give a spin. Dunk and REBEL’s VIP of “Backroads” is an absolute gem that will have you rolling forward. Haptic’s “Hallucination” starts with an ominous, repeated vocal before layers of punchy drums enter the fray to keep your body moving. Another fantastic cut comes from Joe Ford, who remixes Stenchman and Meloki’s “4th Child” and makes it one that will have you feeling every twist and turn. Finally, the penultimate track from Effluvium, “End of Days,” offers stuttered vocals that cry out over its breakneck pace.

Listen to Shadow Net Recordings’ Annual “001”, grab a copy on Beatport, and follow the imprint to stay informed on upcoming releases and more.
