Organizers of this year’s Verknipt ArenA touted it as the “biggest hard techno event ever” at 40,000 attendees. Next year, they’re adding a 360-degree stage to the mix.
Much can be said about Verknipt‘s place in the modern hard techno landscape. In 2024 alone, the promoter organized what they claim was the world’s biggest hard techno event and proved it wasn’t a fluke with highly popular ADE programming. Next year, Verknipt ArenA will make a triumphant return to Amsterdam‘s Johan Cruijff ArenA with a key upgrade.
This time around, a 360-degree stage will sit at the center of the arena, adding a measure of immersive depth to the experience. It will make the ArenA an ideal setting to host solo performances by Nico Moreno and winson as well as back-to-back pairings such as DYEN b2b Fantasm, CARV b2b Holy Priest, and Cloudy b2b NOVAH.
There will also be an exclusive b3b performance billed as an “evolution set” for “early access” attendees. Sharing the stage for this billing are APHØTIC, NYCO, and XRTN.
“The 360-degree stage is our way of reimagining how hard techno is felt and shared,” said Verknipt cofounder Mer Hajbarati. “It’s designed to bring fans closer to the music and to one another, creating a powerful energy loop that pulses through everyone in the ArenA. This setup isn’t just about doing something new — it’s about uniting people in an unforgettable, heart-pounding and dynamic celebration of sound and connection.”
Verknipt, which launched in 2012 in the Netherlands, used to specialize in a wider range of the house and techno spectrum. After the pandemic — and when the term “hard techno” came to describe a fusion between hard dance and industrial techno — the brand became inextricably linked to the rapidly growing sub genre.
Tickets to Verknipt ArenA 2025 are currently on sale and start at €89.00. Purchase yours or find additional information on the Verknipt website.
