Rony Seikaly Refreshes Stride Records’ Aesthetics with Latest EP

Rony Seikaly’s latest EP, Slap Your Wrist, captures the essence of house music in its purest form: fluid, free, and always evolving.

From dominating the court as an NBA star to captivating audiences on the global stage, Rony Seikaly proves that a true talent knows no boundaries. Over the past few years, he has been one of the most exciting artists to emerge onto the international electronic scene.

With an undeniable flair for production, the Lebanese-American DJ has graced numerous stages with luminaries such as Marco Carola, Damian Lazarus, Bedouin, Seth Troxler, and Guy Gerber. Besides performing at iconic venues such as Stereo (Montreal), Club Space (Miami), The Grand Factory (Beirut), and Zamna (Tulum) this year, he also dropped a handful of fiery tracks and remixes such as “Lose Your Love,” “Color of Love,” and “No Talking.”

Now, he returns to the release radar to unleash a three-track EP, Slap Your Wrist, on his imprint Stride Records. The latest package also coincides with a visual shift for his label. Drawing inspiration from retro sports to nostalgic ’90s aesthetics, the new look aligns with the label boss’ broader vision of inclusivity and creativity, with an added focus on championing emerging artists.

With his latest EP, Rony Seikaly embraces an exploratory approach to house music. “Carrot Cake“ opens the package with shimmering background tones, channeling a floaty vibe via infectious melodies and dazzling chimes. Next, “Invisible Man” takes on an edgier tech house spin with a slice of driving funk added to the mix, while titular closer “Slap Your Wrist“ is a bouncy endeavor that keeps the energy sizzling as the show closes with a swath of pure dancefloor ecstasy.

Each track represents a unique journey within the genre where the talent finds his creative space to run wild and freely express his sound. “The reason why I started my label, Stride Records, is because I knew I was a little bit outside of the box,” Seikaly said. “My music is hard to categorize. This EP, Slap Your Wrist, is a collection of three completely different vibes that showcase my creative bandwidth. I’ve followed the evolution of house music, and been a student of it, and I know there’s a space where house music can live outside of genre constraints. I’m doing my best to create that.”

For Seikaly, house music has always been about expression — whether it’s deep and soulful or experimental and diverse. He believes in pushing the boundaries of creativity because the genre is not confined to a single sound. Rather, it’s all about the evolution and freedom to create something new.

Slap Your Wrist is out now on all platforms, so head over to Spotify or your preferred streaming service to groove to your favorite tune!
