Casmalia Breaks It Down With Classic House Vibes on New EP

West Coast powerhouse Casmalia’s latest EP, Break It Down on Country Club Disco, channels a sauntering groove reminiscent of ’90s house music.

San Diego house artist Casmalia is a rising force in the electronic music scene. The classically trained talent brings her passion and knowledge to her groove-driven and bass-fueled sounds, maintaining an impressive flow of high-caliber singles such as “Calling Out,” “Nothing Like Your Love,” and “Off My Mind.”

Following the release of her acclaimed track, “Four Letter Word,” on the mau5trap/Insomniac Records compilation album in 2021, she’s continued to stand out from the masses with her pristine productions. They have received solid support from industry heavyweights like David Guetta, Claude VonStroke, AC Slater, Green Velvet, Bijou, Gene Farris, Noizu, Kyle Watson, and many others.

This time, Casmalia makes her debut on Golf Clap’s Country Club Disco with her latest EP, Break It Down. Each of the three tracks on the record holds a special place in her heart as they brought crowds together with electrifying energy at festivals and venues throughout the summer.

The lead single, “The Beginning,” is a track ready to take any dancefloor by storm. Casmalia teams up with Chicago-based artist Sherm to celebrate the enduring spirit of house music. True to its title, this song reflects its intentions to take the listeners back to the roots of the genre while incorporating a modern twist. It’s characterized by shimmering synths, spacey vocals, and plucky basslines as the pair showcase their innovative approach while paying homage to house music’s rich heritage.

I had originally sent a different version of this track to Sherm, which was a lot deeper. He immediately wanted to hop on and take it in a groovier direction, which turned out to be a perfect blend of our individual styles. I’ve had an amazing crowd response every time I’ve played it out, and I’m so excited that CCD loved it enough to include it on my new EP.

“Break It Down” is an entrancing dancefloor record that exudes a powerful presence from the get-go. The smooth chord progression and balanced percussion keeps the audience intrigued as Casmalia invites you to her sonic playground to “break it down” and let loose.

The closing track, “Abanico,” erupts with a contemporary tech house bounce underscored by distinctive vocal effects that add weight to the swinging beat. Peruvian DJ and producer EGalas joins in to bring the listeners a fun atmosphere as wobbling synths and seductive drops crescendo toward pure magic.

Casmalia will soon perform her final shows of the year including EDC Orlando and Duck Duck Roar Festival, and she is slated to support Dillon Francis for his New Year’s Eve party, LiFE iN LiTE, in Reno this December.
