Barclay Crenshaw gives the floor to ChefWamp, Harrison Lace, Lex Concept, and So Sus for remixes of his standout track, “The Rebel.”

Barclay Crenshaw‘s career spans decades between his two monikers. His innovative soundscapes and commitment to artistic integrity have made him a driving force in the dance music scene. Not only does he show up for his fans, he also shows up for his fellow artists, making him a widely cherished figurehead.

What better way to utilize your power than to uplift artists just getting their foot in the door? That’s exactly what Barclay decided to do. With a great response to his debut album, it comes as no surprise that strong remixes of the monumental tunes would surface. It all started with his and Great Dane‘s heater of a track, “The Rebel.” After reviewing many submissions, Barclay and his team narrowed it down to four lucky artists.

This remix album isn’t like most. It will be accompanied by a contest where fans can vote for their favorite rendition, starting from the release date on October 25 until November 1. The recording with the most votes will be featured on Barclay’s official Spotify remix album, set to release in February of 2025. The four stars of this contest are ChefWamp, Harrison Lace, Lex Concept, and So Sus — and boy, do they make it hard for listeners to arrive at a decision.

The remixes kick off with an underground artist ready to show the scene he means business, ChefSwamp. He brings an eerie, slow intro that meets dark undertones at each turn, setting the stage for this Halloween season. Then, Harrison Lace bursts through the walls with his powerful yet graceful take where guitar riffs meets powerful bass. Chills rush over you as Lex Concept grabs hold of the OG track’s stems with low, warbled, delectable goodness slathered all over her interpretation. Last but not least, So Sus shakes things up with hard-hitting percussion and a second drop that you can’t help but get down to, bringing the remix EP to a close.

Which remix was your favorite? Join Barclay Crenshaw on SoundCloud this Halloween weekend to support up-and-coming artists and help decide which remix will make it onto the official album. More details on how to participate in the voting can be found on the banner image of his SoundCloud page.
