Øtta Welcomes Listeners to Her 2024 Era With New EP

Sheila Lim by Sheila Lim

in Album Review

Øtta steps into a bold new phase of her artistic journey and invites you to embrace your true self with her latest EP, In My 2024 Era.

Tech house artist Øtta‘s sound is stimulating and exhilarating, often molded into a package representing a powerful display of her creativity. Known for her seductive production style that packs a high-groovy punch, the London-based artist left a lasting impression with her exceptional Boiler Room performance in Manchester, which continues to spark conversations among industry tastemakers.

As an artist who deeply appreciates the vibrant community of music and artistry, Øtta founded Hotties in 2024 – a label and event series that offers a space for creators to connect. Her new EP, In My 2024 Era, is a natural reflection of that gutsy attitude, embodying a similar sense of boldness and innovation. Released on her imprint, Øtta wants her fans to join her in this empowering chapter, where she is breaking all molds and exploring new sounds that challenges the conventional forms.

‘In My 2024 Era’ is really about bringing the feeling of summer everywhere – MY era is all about feeling the incredible
vibes of music. I’ve been changing my style of techno for the past four years, I love pushing this fun, juicy, spicy vibe
in the space and these tracks are a testament to that – I’m not just starting my new era, I’m in it and I’m owning it.

Opening track “Everybody Getting Low” celebrates the power of confidence and the beauty that comes with a classic potent techno kick. Øtta keeps the groove alive with the sharp burst of intricate melodies, propelling the track right into a deep, intoxicating vibe.

“Front 2 Tha Back” sees the Portuguese talent drop a dancefloor centric track that will surely cement its place among electronic music tastemakers. The song brilliantly merges Brazilian funk and rapid fire drum patterns, resulting in a joyous celebration of culture and sound. It’s easy to feel like you’ve been transported to a lively street party in the heart of Rio de Janeiro through this fearless sonic exploration.

Characterized by its rhythmic pulses and spell binding melodies, the next track “Salty” exudes an unwavering sense of swag. It’s impossible not to feel empowered with snippets of Øtta’s unapologetic and brazen vocals slicing through the beats. She immerses the listeners in the climax of the song, where the electric tension cascades onto a raw and unfiltered anthem. This is the perfect track to turn up the heat on the dancefloor as you step into your own spotlight.

From the start to the end, Øtta ramps up the intensity with an undeniable sense of dominance in the final track “Voce De 4.” The song shows off her subversive approach to making a future forward Brazilian techno sound. With its high-energy acid techno sensibilities, the song closes out the EP with a transmissible fire delivered straight into listeners’ ears.

Assertive and unyielding, this EP is Øtta’s way of letting the listeners know that she is here to stay and her reign has only just begun. Listen to In My 2024 Era on Spotify or your preferred platform, and follow her on social media.
