Eli & Fur reflect on a decade of musical evolution, personal storytelling, and the creation of their highly anticipated album, Dreamscapes.
Eli & Fur have captivated the electronic music world for over a decade with their unique blend of emotive vocals and melodic beats. As “platonic soulmates” with an unshakable creative bond, their synergy has resulted in a dynamic sound that continues to evolve.
Now, in their upcoming album Dreamscapes, the duo is pushing the boundaries of introspective electronic music, taking listeners on a journey through solitude, late-night inspirations, and deeply personal storytelling. The positive reception of their latest singles, “Monsters,” “Insomnia,” “Golden Eyes and Tears,” “Missing You,” “Love Again,” and “My Reflection” has only fueled their passion for exploring new sonic territories.
As they prepare to kick off the first of three fully live performances of Dreamscapes at The Fonda Theatre on October 12, Eli & Fur sat down with us to discuss the creative process behind the LP, the challenges of stepping into a live setup, how collaboration has shaped the heart of their newest project, and more.

Hi Eli & Fur! Thank you so much for chatting with us today! You’ve spent over a decade together as “platonic soulmates intertwined by the same sonic vision.” How has your sound evolved over the last 11 years working together?
Our sound is constantly evolving. We both feel very lucky to have such similar tastes in the sounds we like. It sure does make it a lot easier when you are on the same page sonically. I think it’s been a slow evolution of the way our sound has changed. We have delved into different areas but always return to the vocal-based, melodic electronic music that we love and feel is true to us.
You’ve been releasing some incredible new singles in anticipation of your upcoming album, Dreamscapes, which has received massive praise. How does this positive reception feel leading up to the album release?
It’s always amazing to have a positive response to the music we make. It just makes us want to keep doing more and taking more risks. It’s nice to be able to make this body of work as it’s quite diverse and does not fit into a box, so getting a positive response to that is wonderful.
How do the themes of solitude and introspection in Dreamscapes resonate with your personal experiences and emotions?
We spend a lot of time on the road, in hotel rooms, on city streets at night, and in early morning sunrises. A lot of these situations inspire us. The album is full of those feelings, our favorite parts between dusk and dawn. It’s been such a cathartic experience writing this music, and it is incredibly personal. We really hope people connect with this emotion.
We know you are both talented storytellers, and Dreamscapes showcases your songwriting capabilities. How did you approach this creative process differently than you did for Found In The Wild?
We are always subconsciously telling stories from our personal lives, things that happen in day-to-day life. Things that inspire us come to life in the music. With this album, we approached it in a similar manner — just a place where we could create without boundaries.
How did the collaboration with Hugo Cantarra and Richard Judge on “Love Again” come about, and how did that single help to shape the album’s sonic landscape?
It was quite a last-minute collaboration. We heard the song and just felt it was absolutely perfect, so we gave our own little Eli & Fur spin on it. Hugo is a fantastic producer, and Richard is amazing, so it was lovely to have these other minds all working together. We love to collaborate.
What do you hope listeners will take away from Dreamscapes, and how do you want your music to impact and connect with your audience?
We like the listener to interpret the music personally and feel it is theirs. Applying what they are going through to adjust the emotion they hear. When it comes to playing the music out in nightclubs or festivals, the best thing really is seeing people singing the lyrics. It gives us goosebumps every time.
You have an exciting show coming up at The Fonda Theatre in October! What can fans expect from this show that may be different than what they are typically used to from your live performances?
So, this is a fully live show with live vocals, guitars, drum machines, etc. We are basically bringing our whole studio to the stage and performing the songs live. This is a one-off experience, not at all like anything we’ve done before.
What challenges have you encountered as you prepare to perform in a live setup for this album tour?
Balance has been very time-consuming. We have been writing music while touring and keeping on top of the business! We have been taking it day by day, and it’s getting exciting now.
Finally, is there anything else you’d like to share with your fans today?
Well, let’s just say there are some fantastic remixes in the works! We can’t wait to be playing these out in our sets soon.
