Danish band WhoMadeWho layers elements from indie electronic, pop, house, disco, and more on their eighth studio album, Kiss & Forget.

WhoMadeWho has delivered plenty of dance-ready grooves over their career that spans over two decades. During this time, the Danish trio has delivered sensational albums like Brighter, Synchronicity, Through the Walls, and, more recently, UUUU, which landed in 2022. Now, the trio has returned to the forefront once again with the release of their eighth studio album, Kiss & Forget.

Speaking about the album, WhoMadeWho said that the past few years have been intense with their live world tours and hybrid DJ shows, along with the launch of their own festival and record label. “These amazing adventures are dreams coming true, and we are deeply humbled and grateful for the unwavering love and support we receive steadily worldwide,” they shared. “It was truly wonderful to return to the studio to contemplate and to create new music, which remains our deepest passion. ‘Kiss and Forget’ is a manifesto of love and unity—a brief auditory glimpse in time, from us to you.”

Kiss & Forget features 13 tracks, all dripping with WhoMadeWho’s signature melodic-driven soundscapes that stir emotions and vibrancy. The album’s soundscapes see the trio touch on their influences from different reaches of the music scene, ranging from pop and house to disco and synthwave, all while staying true to their indie electronic roots. Beyond the sonics, there are thematic elements of love, human connection, nostalgia, and more littered throughout its runtime.

The album’s lead single, “Children,” helped put WhoMadeWho’s approach on display last year, and the track still stands tall. Follow-up singles included “Kiss Me Hard” with Blue Hawaii, “Love Will Save Me” with RY X, and “Heartless” with Kölsch, which showed off the collaborative nature of the trio. All three of these, especially “Heartless,” are indie electronic gems that blur the line between dance-ready moments and pensive atmospheres where you’ll find emotions swirling in your head.

Newly released tracks on Kiss & Forget, like “Bedside” with Xinobi, carry on with the trio’s soothing nature with gorgeous elements that play with its intoxicating vocals as the seconds tick away. The three tunes that close out the album, “You Belong To No-One,” “Hummer,” and “Qualia,” show off WhoMadeWho’s ability to switch things up. The first is a slow-burning, dancey track, while “Hummer” puts vocals at the forefront, and “Qualia” is an ambient end that will leave you feeling wrapped in the warm embrace of WhoMadeWho.
