AMPRS&ND, BLK&WHT, and Dances Team Up for Two Late-Night Tunes

AMPRS&ND, BLK&WHT, and Dances stir up plenty of afters energy with their collaborative tunes on Dirtybird, “Out Past 2” and “Freak Freq.”

Dirtybird is entering a new era of its storied legacy, and a fresh wave of artists is helping to lead the way. The latest to arrive are two talented house producers based in the Bay Area who are in the midst of their ascent to greatness: AMPRS&ND and BLK&WHT. Both have dropped tasty tunes and spun dynamic sets and now they’ve put their minds together with Dances to create the Out Past 2 EP. Officially due out on August 23 via Dirtybird, it features a double dose of house goodness that will win you over and have you find your groove on the dancefloor.

The title track kicks off this release with a layer of Dances vocals that give way to the thudding bassline, which is littered with hi-hats and synths for added effect. “A lot of people say nothing good happens after 2, but I think all the best shit happens after 2. This was kind of the inspiration for the track,” BLK&WHT shared about the backstory behind the house heater.

Once you’ve found yourself sweaty on the dancefloor at the afters, “Freak Freq” takes control. This tune hypnotizes the mind with its head-bopping beat before Dances throws down another sick lyrical flow to take the track to the next level. From the fat synths to the warbled elements, Dirtybird lovers won’t be able to help themselves from falling in love with this tune that’s perfect for those late nights when you want to let loose.

I think my style really complimented Lenny’s (BLK&WHT). He has a playful groove, and I added some grit and kicked things up a notch. It came together for a great record, and working with Dances was a dream come true. I’ve loved his music for years and his vocals took this release to the next level.
