Ammo Avenue delivered three fresh, funk-laced tracks for Serial Chillers, his debut EP on Hot Creations.

Summertime is the perfect time for newcomers on the rise to make their mark with groovy, new house anthems. This season, industry powerhouses have had an eye on DJ and producer Ammo Avenue, whose string of latest releases have found homes at labels like Kaluki, Revival New York, and Black Book Records. Following a recent collaboration on Danny Howard‘s Nothing Else Matters, the Peruvian-born artist has unveiled his debut EP, Serial Chillers, on none other than Hot Creations for a tasteful introduction to his funky sounds.

Speaking about the release, Ammo Avenue said it’s “about the game of love” and shows the different stages of connectedness between two people. The three singles comb through the complexities of newfound romance and come together to tell a familiar story while retaining a refreshing collection of pure tech house sounds.

Laid-back yet demanding, the EP’s old-school beats blend a limitless myriad of elements that tell a story and ignite an urge to dance that’s hard to ignore. “Hide and Seek“ brings tantalizing vocal snippets that set the scene for a hypnotic, late-night banger. Seducing listeners into a deep groove, it imitates the exciting feeling of attraction and the intrigue of chasing after love.

“Keep Me Waiting“ delivers intensity, reflecting the pull between caring and uncertainty, with a funky beat and solid bassline. At the top of the EP is “Serial Chiller,” which bounces off an energizing beat and exudes New York-style confidence that’s hard to ignore. A ballad for the freedom and joy found in letting go, the lead track brings a full-circle moment of the human experience in the cycles of love.

Serial Chillers feels like it can usher in a sunset party and set off a late-night all at once. Fitting for the season, Ammo Avenue’s debut on Jamie Jones‘ and Lee Foss‘ label giant comes in strong and confident, telling of the artist’s trajectory.
