INFEKT Drops Debut Monstercat EP, 'VEGGIE GAMES'

**INFEKT brought his signature riddim-fueled sound design to Monstercat for the first time with his eight-track release, VEGGIE GAMES.**

Hailing from Germany and making waves in bass music scenes worldwide, INFEKT has a knack for reeling in listeners who aren’t riddim fans. What he puts in his sonic equations to make a hard-to-love genre so digestible will remain a mystery, but it’s why he’s packed out stages at major events like Lost Lands, EDC Las Vegas, and Rampage Open Air. For INFEKT’s latest EP, VEGGIE GAMES, no home was more perfect than one defined by its wide range of bass styles, Monstercat.

“VEGGIE GAMES has some of my proudest work to date,” INFEKT shared. “Over the last year, I’ve progressed so much in sound design, mixdown, and overall quality, and I’m stoked to finally reveal it.” He also mentioned that the sounds on this release were influenced by the energy his fans have brought to shows and his “unstoppable hunger to find new ways to create crazy bass sounds and flows.”

In eight tracks on VEGGIE GAMES, INFEKT mimics a dark video game aesthetic, complete with laser guns and cartoon-esque samples throughout. INFEKT serves up his signature sliced-up sounds on heavy hitters like “MOMENTUM” and “READ-ONLY” which make it hard not to nod your head to their trudging beats. “PLAY IT TWICE,” the project’s first single released earlier this summer, also dons his classic sound but with a modern flair.

Other tunes, like “BEAMS” and “TEMPEST,” see INFEKT experiment with his take on a more mainstream bass music sound. Reminiscent of a modern American dubstep sound, these two beg to be played out on a Lost Lands stage to a crowd of rowdy bassheads. The final track, “GOOP,” shows a wobbly, more experimental side of INFEKT’s sonic spectrum, which would undoubtedly be a perfect tune to spice things up during one of his heavy live performances.
