Kasablanca will release Higher Resolution in two parts, and they’re slowly revealing the effort’s tracklist.
Ever since Kasablanca burst onto the scene during the pandemic, their distinctive style of progressive house has earned them a devoted fan base. Now that their most harrowing setback is behind them, they want to take their project to the next level. The DJ and producer duo have announced that their debut album, Higher Resolution, will release in two parts, with the first arriving on October 4.
Side A, as the first part is called, consists of 11 tracks in total. Among them are a collaboration with anamē titled “Daydream” and another with Lane 8 called “Remission.” A third single goes by the title “Terminal Feeling,” but the remaining eight song titles are blurred out on the first announcement graphic for the album.
At the time of writing, no such details have been announced for Side B of Higher Resolution. In keeping with Kasablanca’s retrofuturistic branding, the announcement graphic simply underscores it with text that reads “STILL PROCESSING…“
Kasablanca already shared the aptly titled “Remission” back in April. The track’s decidedly Anjunabeats-appropriate synth melody gave it plenty of utility on main stages across the globe as the 2024 festival season began to unfold.
Originally consisting of two artists who went by Micky and Alexi, Kasablanca saw Alexi replaced by a new collaborator called Viktor sometime between 2022 and 2023. A look at Shaun Frank‘s writer credits reveals him to be Micky. Some of the duo’s most popular songs are 2020’s “Hold Me Close,” 2022’s “Afterglow,” and 2023’s “In Sequence.”
Listen to “Remission” on Spotify or your preferred platform, and look out for more details of Higher Resolution in the coming months!
