Miami-based DJ and producer Amal Nemer is celebrating the spring season in style with a tech house mix that’s filled with quality tunes.
Originally from Venezuela but now residing in Miami, Amal Nemer has been rising through the ranks of the scene since taking her first steps as a DJ and producer in 2020. The past few years have already seen her garner support from labels like Nervous Records, Farris Wheel, and Glasgow Underground, while her charismatic personality and skills behind the decks have helped her win over crowds.
This year has seen Amal Nemer go on a tear on the release front. Tracks like “Faith” and “Me Gusta” with Mrodriguez helped lead the charge early on, and she’s since gone on to drop other heaters like “Muchos Besos,” “Yo Tengo Los Poderos,” and the Nasa and Leyenda EPs. Add in some shows, like her Brooklyn debut that just happened earlier this month and an upcoming support slot for Cloonee at District Atlanta, and it’s clear that Amal Nemer is up to some great things in the scene.
To celebrate the spring season, which she’s only begun to experience after moving to the US, Amal Nemer dropped off a mix filled to the brim with tech house tunes. “This set is the first mix I have created that is considered as a proper tech house mix,” she shared. “The beats, the groove, the vibe, it’s just different and really speaks to the genre I see myself in.”
I was born and raised in Barinas, Venezuela which is known for only having two seasons… wet and dry. I never really knew the seasons, in general, consisted of spring, summer, fall, and winter. Since I moved to Miami, I have only experienced summer… but after reading about spring, it makes me think of rejuvenation. Flowers are blooming, the weather getting nicer, it’s a precursor to Summer and I find the transition very beautiful. It is kind of like an evolution to my favorite season, Summer!
