Alesso Shows Off His New Side on 'Hypnotize' EP

Swedish DJ and producer Alesso has made quite a name for himself over the years. From hit tracks like “If I Lose Myself” and “Calling (Lose My Mind)” to memorable remixes and powerful performances at major festivals around the world, he’s solidified his spot among the greats in the dance music scene. Recent releases have seen Alesso take a trip into a more pop-oriented sound, but this year, he’s shifting back to dancefloor-ready grooves with his Body Hi project and label.

The grand debut of Body Hi happened just a few short weeks ago when Alesso took the stage at Coachella’s Do LaB stage during the festival’s first weekend. His set was filled to the brim with curated gems from artists like Mau P, Swedish House Mafia, and more, but also a flurry of originals and IDs from the man himself, including the three tracks that were just revealed on the Hypnotize EP.

The Hypnotize EP is out now for your listening pleasure via Body Hi / Capitol Records, and it kicks off with the previously released single “Zig Zag.” The bouncy bassline booms forward on this one, with its commanding vocals helping move your body left and right on the dancefloor. The title track arrives next with a brief vocal before jumping straight into the house-fueled ride. Alesso sets a proper groove from there that rolls forward with plenty of energy.

Then, “The Rhythm of the Night” closes the three-track ride. This refreshed version of Corona’s classic tune shows Alesso’s ability to blend nostalgia with modern elements to create a memorable track you’ll find yourself hitting the repeat button on soon after it finishes.
