KOAN Sound returns with Evocation to provide more of the ambient soundscapes their fan base is known to love.

Bristol legends KOAN Sound have been trailblazing a path since the early 2000s. If you listen to electronic music, this UK duo have likely influenced all your favorite artists. Whether you’re a veteran fan of KOAN Sound or a new one, the production of their music is timeless, making them relatable to anyone at any stage of their life.

Energy has been at an all-time high among KOAN Sound fans since experiencing the immersive Led By Ancient Light tour. They graced stages all over North America, including The Social in Orlando, B-Side in Los Angeles, and The Ogden Theatre in Denver. Each stop reminded attendees why KOAN Sound has been a pivotal duo in the electronic scene for years.

They are back to give listeners a moment of connection once more on their latest EP, Evocation. This work is an extension of Led By Ancient Light and provides another safe space to be vulnerable and grow. Prepare to feel a sense of familiarity as each track on Evocation plays back memories in your head.

Transcend into a wonderful world full of imagination within the soundscapes of Evocation.

Kick drums and illuminating sonics lead you to an “Emerging Path” in the near distance. A sense of calmness washes over you as the song plays with a beautiful piano melody. Memories flood your mind as the title track brings a sense of belonging. Nurturing elements are woven into the track, giving listeners a warm embrace of sound. “AlterCast” relies heavily on the cello and piano while playing in the realms of distorted electricity layered within.

“Jak’s Odyssey” continues our journey with melodic piano chords washing over you again. Each key elevates you to a more relaxed state of mind until it whiplashes you with hyper-speed drums. Live instruments gracefully slow your speed back down, allowing you to catch your breath. To bring the storyline to a full 360, “Luminary” serenades you with beautiful violin and other live instruments that once again resemble a fond memory.

Listeners will feel recharged after Evocation graces their ears. From its chill-invoking live instrument elements to its more synthesized sonics, this EP is sure to allow the much-needed space for lightheartedness and healing to thrive.
