Auris Presents’ new live music venue, Outset, is slated to open on June 1 and feature artists such as Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Jade Cicada, and more.
Chicago has long been home to festivals, venues, and artists supporting a wide range of music, from rock to electronic and everything in between. In recent years, massive spaces like Radius have opened to satiate the hunger of dance music lovers and one of the newer players in the local scene, Auris Presents, is continuing to bring the heat. The minds behind ARC Music Festival, which has helped promote the legacy of Chicago’s house and techno culture, is now gearing up to open a new venue in the Windy City, Outset.
Led by Nick Karounos, Stuart Hackley, and John Curley, Auris Presents has helped bring world-class experiences to Concord Music Hall and Radius, and Outset will continue with that mentality when the venue opens on June 1. This fresh venue will be located on the outskirts of Lincoln Yards and can host 750 people in its 10,000-square-foot space. The fan-focused space is also set to feature local food trucks, community events, and a cutting-edge D&B XSL system, giving full spectrum audio to the acoustic performances as it’s tuned for live music.
Live music will be the core of Outset. Auris Presents has announced the initial run of shows that will help introduce the venue to Outset, and it’s filled to the brim with iconic artists and some of the most forward-thinking musicians in the scene. Parliament Funkadelic with George Clinton and Dumpstaphunk will help kick everything off on June 1-2, and from there, the venue will host a variety of artists such as Bonobo, Jade Cicada, Thievery Corporation, Franc Moody, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and more.
