Koherent, Klinical, and Operate – Problems
Last week was full of incredible drum and bass releases from jump-up to jungle, but one that stood out was a liquid gem from Koherent, Klinical, and Operate. The three artists teamed up for two new tracks with Overview Music.
The first is on the edgier side of things, while “Problems” is our melodic marvel of the week. Two contrasting tunes always make for a super solid project, but in this case, we can’t get enough of the groovy, uplifting vibes on the second track.
Hamdi – Simplicity
UK dubstep and garage producer Hamdi hit a huge milestone this week with his debut EP on Mala‘s imprint, Deep Medi Musik. With three lurking dubstep tunes on the effort, the shining star of the collection is easily the final offering, “Simplicity.” The heavy-hitting 140 beat is super catchy, and the signature low end throughout makes the track beg to be played on the nearest sound system.
T & Sugah – Danger (REAPER Remix)
Rising US drum and bass star REAPER released a brand new remix with none other than renowned UK imprint UKF this week. He took his shot at T & Sugah‘s “Danger,” which was first released by the label last spring and delivered for jump-up fans. REAPER injected his signature high-energy flair into the tune for a dancefloor-ready beat made to impress.
Secret Recipe – Grow Wings
Experimental bass lovers were treated to a four-track EP from Secret Recipe last week. With no better imprint to host the project than Wormhole Music Group, the Oakland-based producer let his keen ear for weird and wonderful sounds shine on the new EP. The third offering on the project, “Grow Wings,” stands out as an immediate favorite for bass music fans for its deep, wonky basslines and clean sound design.
Fred V – Take You There
Happy-go-lucky vibes are in store with this electro-leaning drum and bass tune from Fred V on Hospital Records. “Take You There” features just the right amount of nostalgia as well as the fresh flair listeners crave, with a tasteful vocal element thrown into the mix just where it’s needed. The track’s floating, whimsical vibes and upbeat pace are too fitting for warming weather, making it impossible not to smile while listening.
