Nia Archives channels her inner emotional junglist across 13 tracks for a stunning debut album, Silence Is Loud, out now on Hijinxx/Island Records.

If Nia Archives isn’t a part of your everyday music library already, now is your chance to get hooked. The UK artist is a jack of all trades, sharing her creativity as a singer, songwriter, producer, and visual artist.

At just 24 years old, the Bradford-born artist isn’t afraid to stand out and carve her own path. Recent years have seen her grow tremendously, first as a promising young star in the jungle and drum and bass corner of dance music, to being the leading figure championing emotional jungle music.

Since her youth, Nia Archives has used music and videography as a deeply cherished outlet. This only blossomed further when she decided to pursue music later in life, studying music production at the University of Westminster, and joining DJ Flight‘s EQ50 Mentorship Scheme.

In 2020, she released her track “Sober Feels” on her own imprint, Hijinxx, and it’s only been up from there. Since then, fans have seen her reach large milestones including opening for Beyonce‘s Renaissance World Tour in London, headlining Boiler Room‘s International Women’s Day lineup, and winning NME‘s award for Best Producer.

She is nowhere near stopping, however, as she’s just ramped up again with the release of her debut album, Silence Is Loud. Just a few months ago, she teased its release with the titular lead single. She followed that with the release of two more singles and a coinciding music video for “Cards On The Table.” Now, the full album is here in all its glory. It’s available in vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital formats through Hijinxx/Island Records.

Grab your very own vinyl, cassette, or CD of Silence Is Loud via Island Records official website and continue for more on the tracks below.

Nia Archives explores a different side of jungle with Silence Is Loud, putting a range of emotion and rhythm into every track.

Silence Is Loud gets right into the thick of it with the aforementioned title track. This song is unlike any other jungle track you’ve heard before, with Nia Archives’ very own vocals, melancholic lyrics, and breaks galore.

“Cards On The Table” takes a different approach, with an acoustic guitar intro, centering her vocals as the main attraction. This one is her self-proclaimed favorite, with a DIY-style music video to visually portray the feeling of baring her heart.

She then follows that with “Unfinished Business,” a spectacular track exploring love, complicated histories, and unresolved feelings, something to which we can all easily relate. Up next, an absolute personal favorite, “Crowded Roomz,” takes the lead, calling out all the introverts with the feeling of being lonely even amongst a crowd. The album continues with “Forbidden Feelingz,” an irresistible track with unrelenting breaks, a funky beat, and vocals describing a forbidden feeling that will leave you daydreaming.

“Blind Devotion” turns the reflection inward, with Nia Archives’ vocals making us question if we’re seeing clearly past the excitement of something new. Meanwhile, “Tell Me What It’s Like?” focuses on acoustic guitar, drums, and breaks, with enough energy to set dance floors off.

“Nightmares” pulls it back, playing with listeners’ egos, telling the story of regret for not trusting a gut instinct. “F.A.M.I.L.Y.” brings out all the breaks, followed by “Out Of Options” and the “Silence Is Loud (Reprise),” in which Nia Archives sings a beautiful acoustic version of the track, ending with the sound of cheers from friends and loved ones.

The album rounds out with “Killjoy!” an energetic track that shoots off from the start. It all comes to an end with “So Tell Me…,” a vocal-driven track with minimal breaks to compliment her angelic voice.

Silence Is Loud proves to be one of a kind, further supporting the claims that Nia Archives is pushing the jungle genre to new heights. She has continued to explore what silence sounds like in her mind, combining all her creative outlets to provide a more reflective, emotional variant of jungle to the people, and pushing the genre far beyond the dancefloor. Follow along on her journey, and enjoy the Silence Is Loud album on your preferred platform.
