Pop-electronic artist Grimes has taken her romance with melodic techno artist Anyma public on social media.
Grimes has dropped a bombshell of a social media post for fans of electronic music. The Canadian singer-songwriter-producer just revealed in no uncertain terms that she and Italian DJ and producer Anyma aka Matteo Milleri of Tale Of Us are romantically involved.
Images shared to social media accounts belonging to Grimes (real name Claire Elise Boucher) show the pair embracing and kissing in what appears to be a professional photo shoot. “Beauty and the Beast,” reads the caption. Boucher did not tag Milleri in the posts, but fans of the Afterlife boss eagerly pointed out that it was him in the comments.
Milleri was previously dating fashion model Vittoria Ceretti, but the two split in 2023 and she is now dating Leonardo DiCaprio, according to Page Six. Boucher’s recent love life appears to be more complicated. She famously dated Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk from 2018-2021 and the two are currently embroiled in a legal battle over parental rights of their three children.
Boucher began releasing music as Grimes in 2007 and released her debut album, Geidi Primes, in 2010. Her third studio album, Visions, catapulted her into worldwide fame, not the least of which because of the single “Oblivion,” which Pitchfork named the best song of 2012.
Milleri launched the duo Tale Of Us alongside Carmine Conte after the two met in Milan in 2008. After moving to Berlin, they championed a melodic subset of techno music that grew especially popular after they founded their Afterlife label in 2016.
Milleri and Boucher worked together on a song called “Welcome to the Opera” last year. It remains to be seen whether their romance will open the door for further creative collaboration.
