Amél is welcoming his fans to the next chapter of his career with the launch of his new imprint, Manitou Records.
Carter Hansen, professionally known as Amél, has been honing his skills as a musician for years. Initially learning to play the violin, guitar, and other instruments at an early age, he leaped into the realm of electronic music production after graduating from high school and hasn’t looked back since. In recent years, this producer found a home on AFROJACK’s WALL Recordings with tunes like “Losing My Mind” with Yufo and “Hold On” with Max Robinson. Now, he’s officially launched Manitou Records, a new sub-label under WALL Recordings that will let him explore new sonic realms.
“Starting Manitou is a very exciting endeavor for me,” Amél shared when asked about the label’s launch. “In the world of dance music, where everything is controlled by the trends and hype, having my own label gives me a lot of freedom.” The imprint’s name draws inspiration from his Native American heritage and Colorado roots, showing his desire to deliver soundscapes that channel that profound connection for his fans around the world to immerse themselves in.
The first track to arrive on Manitou Records is “Close To Me,” a future house-driven tune filled with gorgeous melodies that swell with energy, a pulsating rhythm perfect for any festival main stage, and hypnotic vocals for added flair. If this tune is a sign of what’s coming on this newly minted label, the future is bright for Amél and others who will find a home there.
