Disco Donnie is marking three decades of throwing shows and festivals with a rebrand to Disco Presents and surprises for fans!
James “Disco” Donnie Estopinal has been through it all over the past three decades. Originally a rave outlaw throwing shows during the early eras of the scene, he’s since become one of the most legendary entrepreneurs in dance music. His company, Disco Donnie Presents, was founded in 1994 and grew to become a powerhouse in North America, having thrown over 20,000 shows, sold over 20 million tickets, and donated two million dollars to charity during their run so far.
The scene has been quite a roller coaster for Disco Donnie as he grew to become the largest independent promoter on the continent. Not only has he overcome legal challenges like the RAVE Act, but he also weathered the rise and fall of SFX and the COVID pandemic. He was the first company founder to buy his brand back from SFX after they went under, the first to throw a festival post-COVID, and has since acquired or entered into partnerships with brands like Lights All Night, Third String Entertainment, Illfest, Tahoe Live, Probably Nothing, and more.
To mark the 30-year celebration, Disco Donnie announced several exciting changes to Disco Donnie Presents. The first was a rebrand to Disco Presents, dropping his name from the brand, but rest assured, he isn’t going anywhere. Additionally, a new logo has been unveiled that will be used throughout 2024. It pays homage to the original Disco Productions logo, which Disco Donnie admits was “ripped off the logo of the vegetable oil brand, Crisco.”
That’s not all that Disco Donnie had in store, as he also revealed the Dirty 30 Sweepstakes that will act as a year-long celebration for their fans. Expect special ticket deals, festival activations, and contests that will run throughout the year.
Further, the anniversary of DDP also marks 30 years of Zoolu in New Orleans. During Mardi Gras, the Disco Presents team has curated a milestone edition that is set to bring RL Grime, Illenium, Kompany, Matroda, Nurko, and Noizu to the stage, along with another special event called Zoolu Allstars that will feature legends like Rabbit In The Moon.
Thank you for being a part of the Disco Presents family over the past 30 years. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or just joined our community, we’re excited to celebrate this milestone with you.
