Dark Heart Releases Captivating ‘Error’ EP

Dark Heart is becoming a name to watch in the scene. Born from a decision to pursue music full-time, this LA-based producer left behind a career in Hollywood as a talent agent to further his craft on the decks. Dark Heart has a deep passion for all things house and techno, already amassing support from artists like FISHER, Vintage Culture, Kaskade, Sonny Fodera, and more over his music career.

Now, the latest installment in Dark Heart’s discography has arrived, and it’s a stunner. His three-track EP Error is out now via Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION and showcases this artist’s ability to dive into otherworldly sounds. The EP explores spellbinding techno, cinematic buildups, ominous synths, and an overall aura of suspense for one heck of a ride through its runtime.

Melodic techno-fueled “Amnesia” kicks off the release, drawing listeners in with cryptic vocals beckoning, “I don’t remember… What have you done to me?” Speaking on the origins of the single, Dark Heart states that a close friend showed him the vocal, and he knew he had to build a track around it. Reflecting on the production process, he said, “I designed each sound from scratch and built the piano melody in the break to compliment the eerie nature of the lyrics. I feel the final result really matches the vibe of that vocal.”

Continuing through the EP, we next encounter a massive cinematic buildup in “Error” before crashing down on a moody bassline. Mystifying synths weave through the release, and if you listen closely, you’ll find sonic elements of thunderstorms, whispers, and more that add depth to the track. Dark Heart then teams up with Bolth for a powerhouse to complete the three-track ride, dubbed “The Rhythm,” where dark techno and layers of forceful drops collide for an epic conclusion.
