After over two decades Summer Camp is entering a new era with the announcement of a fresh experience called Solshine Reverie.
Turn back the clock to the early 2000s, and you’ll find Summer Camp in its formative years with jam rock band moe. leading the way with Umphrey’s McGee joining as co-hosts soon after. During their run that spanned over two decades, this festival became a staple in the Midwest, drawing in thousands of music and art lovers who wanted to immerse themselves in a unique experience. This year marked the final edition of Summer Camp as the organizers looked to bring something fresh and exciting to the scene, and now more details have surfaced with the news surrounding Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie.
The first edition of Solshine Reverie is set to take place on May 24-26 at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois, the original home for Summer Camp. Additionally, a pre-party will also happen on May 23 to help get everyone in a groove. This new festival experience won’t be too unfamiliar to longstanding attendees of Summer Camp, as they plan to host a diverse, cross-genre lineup while also offering everything from workshops to activities for everyone to participate in.
The spirit and community of Summer Camp will remain, but we are excited to again push boundaries, as we did when we started Summer Camp, and expand the festival’s mission by bringing the Solshine to the forefront. Soulshine had been the house of our Make a Difference program and sustainability efforts, so elevating that intentionality to the overall festival was a big part of the plan.

Additionally, Solshine Reverie will carry on with Summer Camp’s tradition of building an inclusive community with a focus on sustainability. Areas found at the festival, such as The Illumination Woods and SOULPATCH, will help inspire attendees to live a life of intention and help positively impact the world.
Those planning to attend Solshine Reverie should note that all tickets have camping included, but there are some upgrades available for those who want to bring their car or RV, as well as access VIP amenities. Those amenities include access to the pre-party on May 23, exclusive viewing areas and lounge, air-conditioned bathrooms, and more.
Tickets for the debut edition of Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie are on sale now, and the lineup is set to arrive soon. Head over to their official website for more details and to make your purchase.
