Rising house artist Disco Lines is set to headline the Monster Energy Up & Up Festival when it returns to winning colleges this spring!
There’s no doubt that a lot of partying goes on while you’re in college, but what if you could learn a bit about the live events industry while having some fun? That’s exactly what the founders of Monster Energy Up & Up Festival had in mind when they launched in 2016. Since then, this experience has given students across the US a chance to learn how to promote a show and work directly with event organizers, allowing them to get necessary experience – and internship credits – along the way.
Seen as the “Final Four of College Music Festivals,” each campus is pitted against each other using Instagram and TikTok as they battle it out over 48 hours to gain the most pre-sales to their edition. Then, the colleges that have sold the most are crowned as the winners at the end of the two-day sprint and begin to team up with the Monster Energy Up & Up team to bring their show to life at a local venue.
Past iterations have brought major names in the scene to the stage at campuses across the US, and this time around, they’ve looked to one of the fastest-rising stars in the house scene: Disco Lines. He’s been on a tear with releases like “Baby Girl,” “Restless Bones,” and “Another Chance,” and he’s currently riding the wave of his latest track, “Blurring the Lines.” Add in his fantastic sets at clubs and festivals across the country, and you can rest assured that his set in your city will be a great time – if your college wins the competition, of course.
The most recent edition of Monster Energy Up & Up Festival saw UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State, UCSB, Clemson, and Oregon earn the opportunity to host shows this winter. If you think your college has what it takes to dominate the 48-hour pre-sale sprint, then get ready as the competition begins on February 20 at 4pm ET. Winning festivals will then take place from March to May.
College students seeking music industry experience and internship credit can apply to be an ambassador via the Monster Energy Up & Up Festival website. Follow the festival’s Instagram account for updates on the ticket leaderboards and winning colleges once the competition begins.
