TikTok Sensation veggi Spins a Funky Fall Mix

Rising star veggi channels influences from house, R&B, and more to create mind-bending tracks, and he spun up a mix that will help you find your groove.

The dance music scene is constantly changing with each passing year. Genres rise and fall, new sounds are created, old sounds get life breathed back into them, and fresh platforms become a go-to place for artists to show off their creativity. The latter of those is exactly what veggi did back in 2020 when TikTok began to explode. It was on the short-form video platform where he showcased his tastemaking skills and passion for funky house, hip-hop, R&B, and more. Add in veggi’s fun-loving personality, and it’s no surprise he’s gained the massive following that he has over the past few years.

From 2020’s FIGUEROA to 2022’s PRODUCE and LIQUID, veggi has flexed his creative muscle on the release front and turned heads along the way. This included the likes of Snakehips, who brought him on to play in support on tour, while features from DijahSB, Bipolar Sunshine, and more helped solidify his space in the scene. This year has seen him continue his rise by releasing another gem, HYDROPONICS, on Lowly.

Found on HYDROPONICS are some fantastic features that include everyone from Ella Rosa and Magsy to Lowgo and donSMITH, all of which pair perfectly with veggi’s nostalgia-inducing Y2K-inspired soundscapes. But that’s not all because he’s set off on a live tour to help celebrate the release of his biggest body of work to date.

HYDROPONICS has been my most daring project yet. In addition to this new sonic journey I’ve also built an ambitious visual component to the project which is a custom hydroponic greenhouse stage that surrounds me. Every song on this project represents different plants of a hydroponic vegetable garden with me as the centerpiece.

Ahead of his forthcoming shows in Denver, Los Angeles, and Chicago, veggi is giving everyone a taste of his unique sound by whipping up a guest mix. “This mix is a little bit of what fans can expect to hear during my current live show,” he said. “I’ve got tons of new music from the EP as well as some unreleased edits and remixes.”
