Chef Boyarbeatz returns to the Deadbeats imprint with three spicy, new, slowed-down beats on his latest project, Nokia Dub.

Chef Boyarbeatz solidified his name in the dubstep community this year. Even after his busiest festival season so far, he’s not slowing down on new releases. While he’s best known for the consistent heat he puts out in the 140 realm, Chef fans know you’ll hear a lot more than a single tempo during his live sets. From sinister dubstep to lively UKG and varying styles of drum and bass, Chef serves all of it in style.

His latest release, Nokia Dub, has hit all streaming platforms today via Deadbeats. This project shows off just how dark Chef Boyarbeatz’ sounds can get with a style slower than his usual 140 BPM dubstep. With three spicy, new, all-original tracks, the EP arrives not long after Chef’s debut single on the imprint, “MIC CHECK,” which dropped earlier this summer. It’s safe to say the new tunes on Nokia Dub come from a totally different world than the bouncy, club-centric beat he first brought to the label.

“The ‘Nokia Dub’ EP is an obvious departure from my steady flow of 140 tunes last year. The EP ranges from 115 – 128 BPM, and while it may not be 140 I still feel this release sounds consistently like me. The entire EP kind of revolves around my analog synth, the Moog Sub Phatty. I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with this synth and just seeing where the sessions take me, which have ultimately really made making music that much more exciting.”

The EP kicks off with a banger we’ve been hearing in Chef’s live sets all year. The steady sinister beat of “BIG SOUND” is nothing short of addicting when it meets the ear. As he said he hoped to do, Chef Boyarbeatz has absolutely crafted a signature sound that consistently sounds like him across all of his releases, no matter the genre or tempo. All three tracks on Nokia Dub flow together with ease, and despite their slower tempo, are still guaranteed to keep dancefloors going nuts.

Chef is saucy with the drums in every track he puts out, but they’re especially fabulous in the final two tracks, “Nokia Dub” and “Absolutely F****d.” Odes to jungle and classic, club-style sounds collide with those of deep, lurking dubstep in true Chef Boyarbeatz fashion.

Nokia Dub is out everywhere now. Head over to Spotify or your preferred platform to give this spicy collection of tunes a listen for yourself.
