Calvin Harris and Vick Hope each said “I do” before a performance by Nile Rodgers and Chic in Alnwick, England.
Sorry ladies, Calvin Harris is officially taken. On Saturday, the EDM superstar got married to BBC Radio 1 host Vick Hope during an ornate wedding in Hulne Priory, Alnwick, Northumberland, England. Afterward, guests were treated to a showing by disco and funk icons Nile Rodgers and Chic before a Glastonbury-styled after party.
Watching over the gathering was a giant giraffe per The Sun, and the event grounds were adorned with wicker baskets and large plants. The ceremony included readings of poems by Ernest Hemingway and Lori Eberhai. Chic played renditions of songs by Luther Vandross, Madonna, Beyoncé, David Bowie, and Pharrell Williams before closing with their own 1979 hit “Good Times.”
At the wedding after party, guests were treated to pizza and hamburgers while relaxing in one of the 80 teepees with log burners placed around the premises. In a nod to Hope’s heritage, Nigerian dishes stood out among the culinary offerings. A ten-minute firework show punctuated the occasion, which one person called “a day none of their guests would ever forget.”
Hailing from Dumfries, Scotland, Calvin Harris (real name Adam Richard Wiles) released his debut studio-length album, I Created Disco, in 2007. At the time, he couldn’t have conceived the magnitude of his unfolding career. His 2012 album 18 Months propelled him into the international spotlight, as did his Rihanna collaborations “We Found Love” and “Where Have You Been.” Forbes named him the highest-paid DJ in the world in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions their annual list, and he’s dated pop stars like Rita Ora and Taylor Swift. Wiles reportedly began dating Vick Hope in January 2022.
As for the bride herself, Hope kicked off her broadcasting career at 19 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she became the youngest journalist ever employed by English language newspaper The Argentina Independent. She was soon after picked up by MTV and presently hosts three different weekly shows for BBC Radio 1.
EDM Identity congratulates Calvin Harris and Vick Hope on their marriage after what sounds like a picture-perfect wedding ceremony.
