Armin van Buuren Delivers Heavenly Remix of “So Much In Love” by D.O.D.

D.O.D.’s ascent reaches new heights with a co-sign from global icon Armin van Buuren.

Few artists are fortunate enough to experience a rise like that of D.O.D. The British DJ and producer has gone from strength to strength in the past few years, building upon the solid foundation he laid in the beginning of his career. He can now count another milestone as none other than Armin van Buuren has remixed his recent hit single, “So Much In Love.”

The effervescent original captured a sentiment everyone knows too well. The song’s lyrics and music video capture the feeling of falling for someone, with innocent, understated sound design further framing the fleeting moments it depicts. Armin took these elements to another level. Between metallic mid-range sound effects in the buildup and luminous synths at the drop, his remix casts a vibrant light on “So Much In Love.”

Dan O’Donnell aka D.O.D. started DJing in 2009 at the tender, young age of 14. He won a Mixmag DJ competition the following year, and his first singles “More Cowbell” and “Bananas” landed on Laidback Luke‘s Mixmash Records. After adding collaborations with artists as big as Afrojack and Fedde Le Grand to his discography throughout the years, he cut “So Much In Love” during a month in which he challenged himself to produce 30 tracks in 30 days. Last month, the single reached #17 on the UK’s Official Charts.

Armin van Buuren needs no introduction. Aside from touring the world in the heyday of trance, the Dutch superstar DJ and producer founded Armada Music — to which “So Much In Love” is signed — in 2003. The brand touts itself as the biggest independent electronic music label in the world, having signed artists such as Ferry Corsten, Kevin Saunderson, and Goldfish.
