Insomniac and Emo Nite have joined forces to launch new merch, a new label, and an event series dubbed GRAVE RAVE.

Los Angeles-based party-throwers Emo Nite have made a mark on the scene since their inception as founders Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca looked to throw parties for the music they loved – emo, alternative, and pop punk. The past eight years have seen the brand grow from hosting shows at dive bars to becoming a recurring event series that has graced over 50 cities, and they’ve created a festival in Las Vegas and taken over stages along the way. Now, Emo Nite is looking to expand again with a newly announced creative partnership with Insomniac Events.

“Before You Liked EDM You Liked Emo” might be stamped on Emo Nite’s hoodies, but it’s a mantra that has taken hold of many in the electronic music scene, from fans to artists, whose musical roots are firmly planted in the realm of emo and pop punk music. Their stage takeovers at festivals like EDC Las Vegas only solidified that notion further as thousands have flocked to their performances filled with special guests and throwback jams to sing along to.

That aforementioned takeover at EDC Las Vegas led to Freed and Petracca meeting with Insomniac Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella, who had first noticed the synergy between the two scenes years ago during the Rave-a-thon streams. This led to the three keeping in touch as their relationship grew organically, and Emo Nite continued to win over the hearts of attendees who yearned for a dose of nostalgia.

When the Emo Nite guys performed at EDC and pulled a massive crowd, it confirmed everything for us Insomniacs. T.J. and Morgan are amazing individuals who embody the same spirit that drives Insomniac. Their passion for music, as well as their commitment to their community, is a perfect match. I’m looking forward to the future and the exciting journey that lies ahead!

In addition to their upcoming appearance at HARD Summer, this creative partnership will see Insomniac and Emo Nite team up to create a new event series, GRAVE RAVE, which will debut in Los Angeles in December. The series will feature performances from emo, pop-punk, and rock bands, as well as DJs who draw inspiration from those genres, to create a club night that is sure to be unforgettable. Those looking for a taste of the emo and electronic mashups in store won’t want to miss the Road to GRAVE RAVE preview party that’s set to take place on August 26 at Academy LA with a surprise lineup.

While the genres of music we each specialize in are very different, we share the same values at the core of our companies. Witnessing the passion and creativity Insomniac puts into their festivals and events inspires us to dream bigger. We’re beyond excited to work with them and to learn from them as we take these next steps on this journey to make our big dreams a reality.

The partnership between Insomniac and Emo Nite doesn’t stop with their upcoming event series; there’s plenty more in store, including a record label and a merch line. Insomniac Music Group will be the home for the newly launched Graveboy Records, which is set to release singles from We The Kings, Say Anything, and Noelle Sucks. Additionally, the first official collection of Insomniac x Emo Nite merch will debut at HARD Summer in August, with more exclusive drops to arrive in the future.
