Beatport is furthering its commitment to nurturing diversity in the electronic music scene with the second year of its Diversity + Parity Fund.
Beatport might be most known as the place for DJs to get their music and producers to get access to the tools they need to make tunes, but there is more than meets the eye that this behemoth brand is up to. The past few years have seen them uplift rising artists in the community, but more recently, they’ve also looked to nurture a diverse and equitable ecosystem across different segments of the global community through the Diversity + Parity Fund.
First launched in 2022, the Diversity + Parity Fund offered funding, exposure, and marketing to organizations within the electronic music community whose mission was to increase diversity. Lady Of The House, Future Female Sounds, and #FORTHEMUSIC were the first three recipients who shared the $100,000 grant from Beatport, and now they’ve announced the details for its second year.
This year sees Beatport increase the Diversity + Parity Fund by 50% to $150,000, which will be split into two separate grants to encourage participation from a wider pool of organizations and grassroots initiatives. Smaller organizations can apply for a grant ranging from $3,000 to $15,000, while larger organizations can qualify for a grant from $15,001 to $30,000. Additionally, Beatport plans to bring like-minded partner companies into the mix to increase opportunities and investments.
Organizations who want to apply can do so from Tuesday, July 25 to August 22 at 12pm GMT. Head over to their official website for more details and to submit an application, and stay tuned to find out who will receive the funds this year.
