Freejak Spins a High Energy Spring Mix

Following the release of his recent single, “Reach Out,” Freejak crafted an exclusive mix to showcase the sounds he’s loving at the moment.

With the coming of spring comes time to welcome in high vibes and new energy, and there’s no better artist than Freejak to provide the soundtrack for that. The UK-based producer has become a favorite among dance music circles, and there’s no question why. His mainstage-worthy house tunes are nostalgic yet forward-thinking, serving as a sort of time capsule to the 90’s rave scene while also incorporating innovative sounds to keep things fresh. Whether he’s spinning original tunes or massive remixes, it seems he knows the formula for concocting tracks that are larger-than-life.

Last year, he turned the heads of listeners and fellow DJs everywhere with a modern house take on Darude‘s legendary track “Sandstorm,” but delve into his catalog more and you’ll find many more gems. He takes a trip back to the Y2K era with an infectious remix of Kelis‘ “Milkshake” and throws it even further back to the early 80’s for an upbeat, synth-laden interpretation of “Don’t You Want Me” by The Human League. Most recently, he dropped some originals that are sure to infiltrate dancefloors with “Reach Out” and “U Got 2 Know” with Cappella, two must-adds to your spring and summer playlists.

There is so much great music around at the moment, so it’s looking good for a great summer. I had some fun recording this mix as it gave me an opportunity to include some unreleased and unheard new music of mine. I’m really enjoying the current trend in higher tempos and energy, particularly with the Retro sounding new Rave scene that’s broken out here in the UK.
