LA PLAGA impose their haunting experience on listeners with their debut guest mix for Paradigm Shift!
LA PLAGA are relative newcomers into the scene who combine all aspects of horror with the darkest elements of hard dance music, creating a haunting experience anytime listeners tune into their frequencies. This unique project consists of two plague doctors that are currently anonymous to protect their identities due to the destruction they bring everywhere they go. They joined forces after discovering that they shared a similar passion for horror films, art, and chaos, and now they’re moving up the ranks of the scene.
Although they have been quiet for some time, it was by design. These horrifying doctors took some time to elevate their music along with the visual aspect of the project, and it’s finally starting to take shape with unique branding and a signature sound. Regarding music, PLAGA II had to go back to when he first discovered early hardstyle and hardcore to find inspiration. “I remember this freaky and eerie sensation the music gave me, and we want to explore this further with our dark-style music!” he said. “We work on the music in conjunction with the theatrical idea to the point we actually build our own VST instruments to help us design our palate of sounds.”
Recently, LA PLAGA released their second official track, “LOST IN THE DARKNESS,” which builds on their story of death and terror and offers no hope. This spine-chilling track perfectly captures the spirit of rawstyle with highly distorted kicks, eerie melodies, and scary vocals about something that lurks in the darkness. For newer listeners expecting a melodic drop, beware. Once you enter LA PLAGA’s world, there’s no turning back.
To complement the release of their latest tune, LA PLAGA brought their tormenting sounds to our hard dance mix series, Paradigm Shift. For 30 minutes, listeners are taken on a sonic journey through their universe, getting a taste of what they’ll bring to their live performances in the future. Along with their two releases, “1347” and “LOST IN THE DARKNESS,” LA PLAGA also included four unreleased tracks highlighting how good or evil their sound has gotten. LA PLAGA also rounded up the darkest records in hardstyle and hardcore with tunes from SO JUICE, Angerfist, Nosferatu, and more.
