After dropping their collaborative tune, “Jealous,” BVRNOUT and NOMAD talk about they stay grounded in the scene.
While dance music has always been a scene that has quickly adopted new styles and sounds as genres and artists rise and fall in popularity, the past decade has seen that churn seemingly kick into overdrive. Feelings of doubt plague artists of all sizes as trends rapidly change, and others get a boost to their careers. This sometimes leads to feelings of jealousy, but those who weather those thoughts and accept their uniqueness typically come out on top over time – and that’s exactly what BVRNOUT and NOMAD explore on their latest tune.
Out now via 40oz Cult, “Jealous” is an upbeat track from BVRNOUT and NOMAD that features an energetic groove and a relatable hook that will strike a chord with anyone who has dashed away the emotion in the past. Conceptualized by NOMAD as a tune to showcase “how pointless it is to be jealous of others because you’ll never be them,” the two rising artists in the scene show off why they’re at the forefront of the next era of house music as they layer in their boundary-pushing sound to blast listeners off.
But the music isn’t the only thing that BVRNOUT and NOMAD shared with the world today as they also offered insight into their own artistic journeys and the struggles they have faced at times. “Being an artist in today’s world can be scary at times, but one thing I know for sure is that I’m being my real, authentic self,” the Massachusetts-based artist said. “I am able to express who I am through music and show people in my own unique way.”
No matter what you want to achieve in life, it’s going to take a lot of hard work that others may never see. As much support there is going around, jealousy will also play a role. Jealous people will often express anger towards you and hope to see you fail. Encountering this type of person is a true test but stay positive, kind & stay your course. Find those people in your life who push you to be your best and want to see you succeed in what you love!

BVRNOUT also shared some quick tips for fellow artists in the scene: “Do what you love! If you’re unhappy with something, change it. Ignore social pressures and do what’s best for you. Learn more about yourself through new life experiences and relationships with people. Understand and learn from your past mistakes to continue to grow and be the best version of yourself.”
NOMAD quickly echoed similar sentiments that BVRNOUT had, stating that being an artist is all about staying true to yourself. “I feel like people are trying so hard to fit in nowadays that they don’t realize how being impactful it is to be unique,” he said. “Authenticity is very easy to spot and goes a long way.”
Digging deeper into how others can achieve just that, NOMAD had some tips of his own: “Learn about yourself through adventure and experience, and don’t be afraid to be different. All the people that follow someone are following someone who decided to be different. TRUST YOUR GUT. If it feels right to you, that’s because it is. Find people who keep you on your toes and are always working on bettering themselves.”
Jealously definitely plays a role in social life. It’s hard not to want things we don’t have but luckily, if you work hard enough toward something, you will achieve it! It’s perfectly fine to envy what someone has accomplished but unfortunately, some people can’t picture themselves being successful in their field of work and this is where anger often comes into play. It’s sad how jealousy has ended friendships and even careers in some cases. If people spent more time loving themselves, they’d spend more time loving others! Sometimes we can be bullied by our own emotions but it’s always our job to rise above any momentary feelings and push forward for a greater life!
