The rumors seem to be true – Skrillex, Four Tet, and Fred again.. will be closing out the second weekend of Coachella on the main stage!
Speculation swirled after Frank Ocean dropped out of the headliner slot for Coachella’s second weekend earlier this week, citing an ankle injury, as many wondered who would take his place. Early reports suggested that Blink-182 would be taking the reins of the slot, but many wondered if the rumors surrounding Skrillex, Four Tet, and Fred again..‘s apparent trip to the desert would see them get placed in that slot instead.
Today, Coachella unveiled the set times for the second weekend and confirmed that Blink-182 would be performing on the main stage this coming Sunday, but a “tba” listed on the schedule to close out the festival left many hoping that the trio known as PHM would be filling the slot. The fire surrounding this was stoked even greater after Fred again.. posted to social media earlier today asking, “does anyone know where Sonny is?” while also posting a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Four Tet. Four Tet later posted a photo on Instagram with a white t-shirt that read “OMG TBA” to make it even more clear the trio was set to play.
Just moments ago, Rolling Stone reported that multiple sources have informed them that Skrillex, Four Tet, and Fred again.. would be playing in the slot and bringing the festival to a close, with fans expressing their joy on social media. The trio is hot off their multi-show run in New York City that saw them take the stage at the iconic Madison Square Garden and in the middle of Times Square, among other venues, along with the official release of their collaborative single, “Baby Again..” back in March.
Stay tuned for more news and updates on Coachella’s second weekend as the festival officially kicks off tomorrow!
